Krista decided to leave Mountain Ridge Jr High to try Maeser Preparatory Academy, a Charter High School. Why?
1) she has missed Saxon math (which she loved at the k-8 charter school she attended, her class at the public jr high was a waste--she was getting an "A" but not learning much...how much can you learn when you only do 5 homework problems, every other day?)
2) she was feeling peer pressure from her group of friends at the Jr high that was making it difficult for her to stick to her standards and I think she felt it would be easier to be at a different school than to try to break away and make new friends at the same school.
3) while the orchestra program is great at the Jr High, Krista didn't enjoy it so it was no longer a big pull.
4) Since 9th grade is not part of the high school, it is the perfect year to try both public and charter and decide which she likes for the rest of her high school years.
Here she is in her Maeser uniform! She was not too excited about the uniform but Krista can make anything look stylish!

Krista is gorgeous in anything but she especially looks good in red. Lucky for her the uniform is perfect for her! She is quite the beauty. I'm really proud of her for making a change like that and being so possitive about it. Way to go, Krista! Love you! I'll be pulling for you. I know you'll be great in your new school! xoxo
