Brandon Earns His Arrow of Light

Brandon turned 11 years old on September 27th, marking the end of having a cub scout in our family! He earned his "Arrow of Light" which is the highest award in scouting and represents earning his bobcat, wolf, bear and webelos badges. He also got it into his head that he wanted to earn all 20 Webelos pins. We had to work pretty hard at it at home. I was proud of him for wanting to go the extra mile!

Sister Vernon tells the story of Akela and paints the faces of the boys with seven stripes, representing 7 virtues.

Brandon receives his arrow with seven feathers representing the seven virtues. We gave him an indian name: "Friendly Bear Cub" because he is charming and playful like a bear cub and he is very friendly. Everyone is his friend.

Brandon signs the bridge between cubs and boy scouts.

Brandon recites the scout oath and law with his 11-year-old scout leader: Erick Okerlund. The walking stick was made by our wonderful cubmaster, Carl Soderstrom.

Relaxing at "camp" with his new troop!

Congratulations Brandon! I love you!
